“Development went a lot to big, multifamily projects, because honestly, it’s easier for developers,” Danielle explained. “The development you do see in Chicago isn’t so much a ton of single families—it’s more like multifamily. And we do some of that, too.”
Danielle also emphasized that even with rising construction costs and land prices, buyer demand remains strong, helping balance the market. She noted that success in this space requires agents who truly understand every stage of the process, from lot sizes and zoning to design and pricing strategies.

“New construction is kind of a different beast,” she shared. “You need to understand zoning, lot size, finish packages and all of these different things. A developer wants someone that’s not only skilled at selling a property, but also understands how to build and develop one. That knowledge is critical to doing it right.”
